Knotty Cedar Deck with Tempered Glass Rails

This knotty cedar deck was built on a large log cabin-type home overlooking Lake Hopatcong, NJ. The railing on this deck features tempered glass inserts. These allow the homeowner and guests to have an unobstructed view of the lake from the inside and outside of the house.

The pergola on this deck was built with an "egg-crate" on top of the railing. This design permits vines to grow up and eventually over the top of the pergola. A large tree was allowed to go through the deck surface. Enough room is given around the trunk to allow for growth and wind-sway.
